Air Balloon Hill Infants School is a thriving community situated in St George on the eastern edge of Bristol. We hope that you enjoy your visit to our web-site.
In 2005 we made a film with Suited and Booted, our Creative Partnership partners, to celebrate the centenary of the school. The film is a mix of interviews with former pupils, one in his 100th year, and animations and acting by the children to tell their stories. The fim became "Caning, Caterpillars and Motorbikes" and it was selected from over 250 films for the Encounters film festival in Bristol. The other films in the screening were all made by Channel 4, RTE, Studio Canal etc. ie national broadcasters; or they were made as final year graduation projects, BUT there amongst them was our film made by the infants!!
The film has also been shown at film festivals in London, Spain, Italy, The Czech Republic and Greece!
Quite an achievement!
A second film, 'Field of Flowers' made in the summer of 2006, has now been shown on Sky TV.

The school is linked with Vittenbergskolen in Ribe, Denmark, Jokiniemen yhtenaiskoulu in Vantaa, Finland as part of a British Council Comenius Project.
We are also linked through UKIERI (UK-India Education and Research Initiative) with Parson Street Primary, Perry Court Junior and Waycroft Primary in Bristol and six schools in Jamshedpur, India.
We currently have the Intermediate International Award and are working towards the full award, but see International Educational and awareness of the global dimension as central to our work in school.
