“One benefit of the campus location is that it is close to everything that you could possibly want, whilst maintaining a safe and lively atmosphere that is great to be a part of. Birmingham has a brilliant nightlife which is complemented by a variety of culture within a thriving city centre.”
Matthew Heron, 2nd Year, BCIT

“Of the many elements that make up Aston’s appeal to students, campus atmosphere is put at the top. It’s a small uni, close-knit, fun, and the positive vibes translate into serious campaigning as well as frolics.”
Virgin Alternative Guide to Universities

“Aston Uni is in a fantastic location – just a short walk to one of the best cities in England. The facilities on campus are just right - enough to keep people occupied, but not too much to prevent people from exploring the city and surrounding areas. The social life here is brilliant – and the societies are well organised and friendly.”

Oliver Duncan, 2nd Year Product Design, from Lincolnshire

“Life on campus is great – the community atmosphere is unrivalled, and you get a city centre location for superb prices. Birmingham is the quintessential student city: reasonable rent, great student nights, big enough to never get bored, small enough to feel at home in.”
Eleanor Jukes, Psychology Final Year

Aston University rated No 1 for Student Life, and one of the UK’s Friendliest Universities.

In 2004-5 UK student website Rokstudent.com recently conducted a major poll rating Universities on various aspects of student life.

Aston was ranked number one in the UK for student nightlife - which is a reflection of both the quality of the student experience on our campus and 10 minutes walk away in the centre of Birmingham.

In June 2005, a massive survey by the website Friendsreunited.co.uk of graduates over the last 50 years rated Aston University amongst the top 10 friendliest Universities in the UK (6th out of over 120 Instututions).

Birmingham – one of Europe’s friendliest and liveliest cities – a fantastic place to spend your student days.

Birmingham is full of life! It looks better, feels better and is better than ever before. Massive investment has transformed Birmingham into one of Europe’s most exciting and energetic cities, home to over 50,000 students and a major centre for entertainment, shopping, business, culture and sport. Over 25 million visitors a year can’t be wrong! It has a past to be proud of, manifested in the many historical and cultural attractions of the City, but today’s Birmingham is alive and kicking.

You will find a dazzling array of shops, restaurants, pubs, clubs and theatres, all just a short 5-10 minutes’ walk from our campus.

“Nightlife in Birmingham is thriving, and the club scene is recognised as one of Britain’s best...”
