About us
Built in 1965 ours is a co-educational infant school for boys and girls aged 4 to 7 years, with a 39 place nursery attached.
Six classrooms, an I.C.T. Suite and the nursery are grouped on the three corners of the hall with the administration/kitchen on the fourth corner.
The layout of our school compliments the family atmosphere we favour.
We have a job vacancy at our school for a deputy head teacher.
Mission Statement
Bewley Infant is a welcoming and caring school.
We want our children to learn to respect and value themselves and others.
At all times we aim to achieve the highest possible standards through quality teaching and learning within a creative curriculum.
Ours is a community where staff, children, parents and governors work co-operatively in a happy, secure and stimulating environment.
Together we strive to prepare our children for their future as citizens in the wider community.
Our Rules
Every child in school has helped decide these rules.
They were asked to think about what we all need to remember and do to be sure that ours is a school where -
- we can work and live happily together
- feel safe and secure
- know that everyone will be treated fairly
We are proud of our children for contributing to these rules and accepting responsibility for making and living by them.
This is an early step towards being a good citizen.
These rules are posted up all around school so everyone in the building will know exactly how to behave at Bewley Infants.

Admission to School
Children are admitted to full-time school in September or January in the year they are five years old. For children born between September and the end of February admission is September. For children born between March and the end of August admission is January.
Although there is not an automatic entitlement to a place in our school there is, normally, a straightforward transfer from the nursery to school. We follow Stockton’s Admission Policy. For further information please contact either the Headteacher or the Admissions Officer (telephone 526605) or Stockton’s Education Department.
All parents are invited to visit the school to meet the Head and class teacher, and have the opportunity to discuss their child’s entry into full-time school.
