Blackboys School kick started their Harvest Festival Week with a visit from organic vegetable box scheme providers, Barcombe Nurseries.
"The children and parents were treated to a stall on the playground where children could taste the organic food and parents could sign up to use Barcombe Nurseries veg box delivery scheme. Using the school as a drop off point will certainly help reduce our carbon footprints.
Barcombe Nurseries have been producing vegetables for local people for more than a century. They converted to organic farming in 1997. To grow vegetables orgainically is to "feed the soil and not the plant". This basic rule leads to a healthy living soil in which plants can thrive. 3 sizes of vegetable box can be ordered and delivered to homes.
