Brentwood Ursuline is a Catholic Voluntary Aided comprehensive school for girls aged betwen 11 to 18 which serves families in the Brentwood area. Our school has a very strong and successful Ursuline tradition that dates back to 1900. We try to be open and welcoming, reflecting the importance of the partnership between the school, family and parish in your daughters education.
Our aim as a school is to create a Christian environment in which each of our students can grow, developing a love of learning and abilities that will enable them to become confident young women. Each student's needs are recognised, staff are mindful that they will develop at different rates and for this reason there is an emphasis on the individual. However we are a learning community so the growth of the school as a community, commited to learning, is considered to be critical.
An Ursuline School in any part of the world has a recognisable feel about it, an ethos and style familiar to anyone who has ever studied there. We are no exception. True to the principles of the Ursuline Sisters who founded the school in 1900, we foster the teachings and spiritual values of the Catholic Faith together with the spirit of self-confidence and independence so necessary today.
The Ursuline Order has always been at the cutting edge of education and this is a commitment of the current governors and staff. We build on a rich tradition and as a team we work to provide an educational experience of quality seeking to maintain all that has been successful whilst developing new ideas and practices. The school maintains links with the network of other Ursuline schools across the world. It has an international outlook and promotes the wider vision which that suggests.
In September 1999 the school became a specialist Arts College, already an area of strength, and since that time the opportunities available to students in the Arts have grown considerably. Students recognise this as a strength of the school and want to become part of it.
Central to our daily life is prayer. We come together for assemblies each day, whole school assemblies and Masses regularly and we focus our prayer and life through weekly themes that flow from the liturgical year. It provides the foundation for our work together.

The mission of the school is to create a Christian environment in which each girl can grow in personality, relationships, knowledge and skills towards full realisation of her potential.
