Aims
- We aim in each of our students to develop the skills, knowledge and qualities she will need to play an active role in a changing world, and to achieve excellence in her chosen fields

Since its foundation in 1906, Chelmsford County High has won national recognition for its all-round excellence.
It combines the strengths of a single-sex girls’ grammar school with the advantages of being a thoroughly modern school which prepares students for a rapidly changing world.
Some of our up-to-date resources have been acquired through winning Technology College status in recognition of high standards in science, mathematics, technology and information technology.
Achievement in other areas of the curriculum has led to the school being awarded in 2005, Music College Status, and in 2006, Language College Status.
Our aim is for each student to succeed in whatever field she chooses. Past students have become academics, vets, business women, actresses, solicitors, social workers, teachers, scientists, artists, barristers, doctors, broadcasters, bankers, software designers, an MP, a senior UN official – we are proud of the variety of their achievements.
As well as achieving outstanding public examination results, our students are involved in a wide provision of extra-curricular activity.
The school provides a stimulating, challenging and enjoyable environment where talented individuals (and by that I mean all our students) can flourish, grow in confidence, enjoy themselves, and learn responsibility and initiative.
Although we draw students from a wide area, we value the sense of community that we have built locally through the involvement of students and staff in a variety of projects which we undertake in order to give to, and learn from, the world beyond school.
