Mr. Richard Marshall
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our school website and introduce myself as the Head Teacher of Cressex Community School.
In a world of increasing complexity and difficulty there has never been a time when education has mattered more to our young people. The ability to respect everyone and to positively enjoy being with different people with different points of view, different skills, different backgrounds and different ambitions is a key to being successful in the global, fast moving society in which we all live today.
Cressex Community School is a school which is proud of its reputation as a caring place that values all its pupils. Since arriving I have been impressed by the aspirations all the staff of the school have for the young people who come here. Their dedication and intense hard work deservedly earns the school a good reputation as a place which works night and day to ensure that its young people are looked after and successful.
My values are those of the school. I have a passion for learning and want every child to be successful so that they can fulfil their dreams and ambitions. Over twenty five years teaching in schools has given me the experience, knowledge and skills that I think will enable me to contribute positively to the development of this ambition of making the young people in the school successful learners. There is nothing more important to me than working together with the vast network of people who make up the school's community - a network that includes staff, parents, local interest groups, businesses, cultural and religious bodies, other local schools and services - in order to ensure that Cressex becomes a centre of excellence where all its pupils learn to become clever, thoughtful and pleasant citizens.
