Social and Moral Development Our care for your child and their social and moral development is our primary concern. You will receive 3 communications a year with regards to progress. You will be invited to a Parent Consultation Day each year to discuss steps forward with subject teachers. In addition, Year 7 parents will be invited to a Tutor Evening in November. However, if there are issues to resolve you will be contacted earlier.

We see the student/teacher/parent triangle as crucial. We are about succeeding in all aspects of life.
High Academic Standards All students are set targets based upon previous attainment; Year 7 students will receive target grades to achieve in their Year 9 SAT examinations early in the Spring term. Parents, students and staff will all have copies and these grades will be used to monitor progress and ensure students reach their full potential across the entire curriculum.
Wider opportunities to achieve We have a huge programme of benefits beyond the timetabled curriculum; we do not see these activities as extra-curricular but an essential element to our philosophy of offering the broadest possible curriculum.
Preparing for a lifetime of learning We aim to instil students with a love of learning; to prepare them for challenge but also for change; to teach them to value questions as much as answers and to understand that we are all learners here and that even teachers can say ‘I don’t know’
When our students leave us at 16 they feel prepared for that uncertain world

Innovation and the use of leading edge approaches to learning and teaching Our website allows you to access information 24/7 with regards to attendance, progress reports and a range of information showing how the student is achieving. We have installed an up to date computer system, to which every student will have access. All teachers have interactive whiteboards to enhance lessons.
In conclusion, together we will ensure students here will be stretched, happy and will have the opportunity of a lifetime.
I look forward to meeting you. |
