Elfed High School is a caring community school with high standards with a caring face. The school has served Buckley and the surrounding area for 50 years, developing a rich heritage of achievement in all respects. Many prospective parents came to the school themselves, and we look forward to continuing the strong sense of partnership on which success can be based.
We celebrate achievement at the Elfed in every way possible. Many of our students go onto higher education having achieved exam excellence at the school. All students are encouraged to work hard to achieve their best, regardless of ability, with an entry policy which gives everyone the chance to show what they can do.
Achievement at the Elfed is not just about academic study. We excel in Music, Sport, Drama, creative arts and a wide-ranging programme of extra-curricular activities. We are a flagship school for the Duke of Edinburgh Award and are constantly looking to develop our out of hours learning programme.
Elfed students are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with our high expectations, making positive choices in accordance with our new "U Choose" policy. The pastoral support given to the students is a real strength of the school, ensuring learning can go on in a happy, secure atmosphere where parents and carers are always welcome to discuss issues at school. The facilities for students continues to develop, with modern technology much to the fore. Buckley Swimming Pool has now been completed, and other aspects of the school have been refurbished.
Elfed is already a successful team of students, teachers, parents and support staff. We very much hope you will want to join us and be part of it. Together we can provide an enriching, enjoyable, rewarding, and above all a successful education for our young people. |
