Fairwater After School Club
We have a thriving After School Club on the school site, which is run by Jayne Vickery and her team. This is a friendly and affordable after school club registered with Care Standards Inspectorate for Wales (CSIW). The club operates from 3.30pm until 6pm during term time.
Your child can play with their friends and take part in a variety of activities. The club provides art and craft, table games, floor games and children can play outdoors within a safe and secure environment. Children are also offer a small snack about 4.30pm to keep the hunger pangs away!!!

Celtica Learning Centre
Celtica Learning Centre at Cantonian High School is a carousel of crossphase activities. A group of 10 different Year 6 pupils each term attend 3 courses at Cantonian High School on Thursday evenings. The topics are fun with cooking, batik and woodcraft.

French Club
French club runs every Wednesday lunchtime. It is to give children an introduction to basic conversational French and French culture and way of life. It is taught in a fun and informal way and the children can take as much or as little as they want from each session.
The children have been learning correct pronunciation and basic sentence patterns to be able to have simple conversations. The children are encouraged to speak in French as much as possible. So far they have learnt numbers from 1-20, how to greet people throughout the day, days of the week, months of the year, names for parts of the body, colours, members of the family and the weather. At Christmas they learnt a traditional French Christmas carol and they are always keen to sing "Allouette" too.

Recorder Club
Recorder club started in September, and more than 20 talented young musicians have been meeting every week to play together. We are learning how to read music, and have now mastered all the notes on the recorder. We play in assemblies and concerts, and the children are proud of their achievements and enjoy sharing what they can do with the rest of the school. A big thankyou recorder group for your hard work and commitment this year. Thanks also to Mrs Brown for her support and help. |
