Good Shepherd School was built in 1967 as an overspill school in the parish of St Elizabeth's in Foleshill in the North of Coventry. St Elizabeth's School and the parish church of St Elizabeth and St Helen are about a mile away from us, but the parish priests, Father Moses and Father John, visit regularly for masses and just to see the children.

Good Shepherd is a Roman Catholic school with a non-denominational nursery attached. There are about 250 children in the main school, and about 30 nursery children.

Coventry is in the West Midlands, most famous for its beautiful new Cathedral, rebuilt after the original was bombed in World War II, and a focus of peace and reconcilliation.

Our head teacher is Mr Dominic Collins, and the school has 9 classes for children aged 5 to 11. We have an excellent reputation for sports, particularly cross-country running. Children also get the opportunity to play netball, football, badminton, basketball, cricket, rounders, rugby and athletics.

Extra curricular opportunities exist for children to play musical instruments like the guitar and recorder, and all of our Year 6 children (aged 10-11) take part in Steel Band.
