Accommodation in the school includes three large purpose built year group teaching areas with separate quiet  rooms and a central school hall.  The class areas are carpeted and well resourced. The school has disabled access and a toilet for the disabled.

There are two attractive outdoor play areas, with a fitness trail, flower planters and a wild garden.

The school's philosophy and ethos is shared by all staff  who  provide a happy, caring, secure environment,  in which every child is valued.

Parents/carers are welcome to help in class and to attend weekly  Sharing Assemblies.  Regular opportunities are provided for parents/carers to gain information about the curriculum.  We value the vital contribution families can make both in supporting the child in school and at home.

The school has a thriving  'Friends' Association, fostering close and positive relationships between staff and parents/carers.   New parents/carers are particularly welcome to join.

Parents are encouraged to use the online admissions facility which is now available.

The school has an Early Admissions Policy and welcomes all children whose parents/carers wish them to attend.  Children are admitted into the school  in the September of the school year in which they have their fifth birthday.  Initially, pupils enter school on a part-time basis to enable them to become familiar with the school routine in a smaller group.  Within a short period all pupils will attend full time; however part-time provision may continue for the youngest pupils, depending on parental choice.

The induction programme for new admission entrants involves an evening in school for new parents/carers, home/school visits during June of the entry year, and two school visits for the new admission children.  Parents/carers are invited to stay for a cooked lunch with their child on their second visit.

Children may be admitted throughout the school year.

At the end of Year 2, most pupils transfer to Hallgate Junior School.
