Our school is a Church of England (Controlled) Primary School catering for children between the ages of four and eleven. There are 380 children in 14 classes. The school has a hall, ICT suite, library, small workroom, administration offices and staffroom although during the 2007/08 school year a substantial building project costing approximately £1.5 million will take place. This project will replace 4 temporary classrooms with permanent buildings and at the same time there will be a new ICT suite, library, office accomadation and small group work rooms.
There is also an after school club called Henrys.
The school grounds are quite extensive and include a playing field and a conservation area with a pond. We also have a cycle shelter and a Cycle Training Track around the perimeter of the field. In one corner of the field we have a vegetable garden, which children use to grow fruit and vegetables. Our latest acquisition is a Ugandan style shelter complete with thatched roof that is used by parents and children. | |

Mrs Richmond, Mrs Peet and Mrs Kirk teach the reception children in classes 1 and 2. |
Miss Graham and Miss Milsom teach Year 1 in classes 3 and 4.
Mrs Michell and Mr Harvey teach Year 2 in classes 5 and 6. |

Mrs Housley and Miss Hopwood teach Year 3 in classes 7 and 8.
Mr Parr and Miss Butcher teach Year 4 in classes 9 and 10. |
Mr Moore, Miss Fletcher and Mrs Goodwin teach Year 5 in classes 11 and 12.
Mr Beard and Mrs Kydd teach Year 6 in classes 13 and 14.
Mr Macdonald will be covering classes when teachers have Planning, Preparation and Assesment (PPA) time. He will be developing PE and sport throughout the school this year.
Miss Moss will also be providing cover for PPA time. She will be developing the teaching of Spanish in the school.
Mrs Friesner will be providing a Reading Recovery programme for children in Year 1 this year. |

WHAT IS THE SCHOOL ASSOCIATION?
All parents and guardians of pupils are automatically members of the Association. It is run by a committee made up of parents elected for a three year term at the AGM, a teacher and a governor, who meet several times a term.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
To raise funds for additional equipment and resources for our children. To help and support the staff at a variety of school events. To provide additional links between the parents and teachers and add to feel of community within the school.

FUND RAISING EVENTS
We have several regular events during the school year, which include the Christmas and Summer Fayres, which between them raised £5,000 last year.
We also have an Easter Egg Raffle, and two discos in January and July, which the children love.
During the year we hold monthly cake sakes, with parents supplying the cakes on a rota basis. In the year 2000/2001 almost £400 was raised. The sale on 20th November 2001 made a record £110.
Plans for 2002 include a car boot/table top sale to be held on 16th March 2002.

OTHER ACTIVITIES
The SA sells a range of uniform at virtually cost price. Our shop is open every Thursday morning (8.45-9.15).
We also provide a creche for pre-school children at several school events such as the Infant Nativity and End of Term services. This minimises the disruption to performing children and allows parents to enjoy the event in peace and quiet. |

SPENDING THE FUNDS
During the 2000/2001 financial year the SA raised £7,500. The Committee liaises with the staff to decide upon the items to be purchased.
Each year the SA provides:
Scrapstore subscription
Reception book bags
Year 3 wallet folders
Year 6 leavers' books
In addition, last year the SA also donated:
£1,800 towards computer equipment
£2,000 towards equipment for the Reception classes
£1,100 towards library books
£500 towards developing the grounds |
