Welcome to Howes Community Primary School
Built in 2006 Howes Community Primary School is in the heart of the Cheylesmore Community and takes children predominantly from the Cheylesmore, Styvechale, Finham and Whitley areas of Coventry.
The large sports field and playground enhance the quality of education offered and the children’s environmental awareness. The school building is light, bright and airy. It is designed for education in the twenty first century.
Children from across the city may attend our Hearing Impaired Unit (HIU). Each of these children has an individual integration programme based on their own communication and learning needs.
The Enhanced Nursery means that within the 26 children who attend each session there are up to six children with a degree of special need. The Nursery has additional staffing to support these children.
The school serves a socially and culturally mixed community. Within our vision for “working together in pursuit of excellence” our school is designed to ensure that every child receives equal access to the curriculum achieving the highest possible standards. We want our children to be well motivated with positive attitudes and a pride in themselves, others and the school.
We wish to make a child’s time at Howes a memorable and enjoyable one and we acknowledge and encourage the importance of parental involvement in this.
We hope our website gives you a flavour of the school and would encourage prospective parents to visit us so that you can see the school in action. Please telephone the school to arrange a mutually convenient appointment.
Yours sincerely
Mr D Clews Acting Headteacher |
