What do we teach at Kingsfield?
In our Reception Classes we teach the Foundation Stage Curriculum (see separate booklet).
In Years One to Six, we teach the National Curriculum. This is a broad programme of work set out by the government in the 1988 Education Reform Act. It includes:
English, mathematics, science, history, geography, art, music, technology, physical education and information/communication technology.
We also teach religious education, and PSHE (personal, social and health education).
We aim to develop skills and qualities (like cooperation, patience and tolerance) in our children through assemblies, PSHE and the pastoral care of the whole community.
How do we teach at Kingsfield?
We use a wide range of teaching methods at Kingsfield depending on how old the children are and how they can learn best. Our staff are fully trained and qualified and they undergo regular training to keep them up to date with the latest ideas on teaching and learning.
There are more details about each subject area in the school prospectus. |
