This is a community school for Boys and Girls aged between 4 years and 11 years of age. The school operates the following Admissions Policy, which has been agreed by the school Governors and the Local Education Authority.
Children who will be 5 years of age during an academic year September – August are admitted to our Early Years Class in the following way;
à If they are 5 years between 1st September and 31st May they will start full time from the September of the year in which they are 5.
à If they are 5 between 1st June and 31st August they start part time from the September of the year in which they are 5 and full time from January. Children are given the opportunity to stay in school full time provided the teacher and parents agree.
At Larchwood Primary we are aware of the individual needs of children and will discuss admission arrangements to suit the child and the school.
Our school has a published admission number, called the number intended to admit. The number intended to admit is 60
For children living within our catchment area a place is guaranteed at the school.
Places are then allocated on the following basis:
Siblings - where a brother or sister already attends the school.
Distance - how far the applicant lives from the school.
Medical/social - where an exceptional reason needs to be considered on an individual basis.
When you have decided that Larchwood Primary is to be the school for your child, you need to complete a green admissions form, which you need to return to the school.
If you live outside our catchment area your application should be sent to:
The Pupil Services Manager,
Learning Services,
County Hall,
Chelmsford CM2 6WN
You must apply before the 31st March of the year your child is due to start. |
