Our Head Teacher, Sheila Keatinge, has been running the school for the last sixteen years. She teaches Class 2 which groups Years 1 and 2 together in the mornings and Year 2 alone in the afternoons.
In order to fulfill the many administrative duties involved in being Head Teacher, Miss Keatinge has office time on Wednesdays and Thursdays. On those days, Class 2 is taught by Diane Healy, our part-time staff member who has been with us for as long as Miss Keatinge herself. Mrs Healy specialises in Technology and the children have made many wonderful creations under her tutelage.
The Foundation Stage (Reception) is taught by Mrs Rowena Borrows in the new Garden Room, where they have a new playground built specifically with their age group in mind. They are joined, in the afternoons, by Year 1. Mrs Marnie Nicholas teaches Class 1 on Tuesday afternoons to allow Mrs Borrows time for Preparation, Planning and Assessment.
We employ several Learning Support Assistants at the moment. Janet Richardson works with Class 2 in the mornings. Mrs Richardson also works with Class 1 for three afternoons a week. Mrs Pat Hester works with Class 1 for three mornings a week, and joined us in the Autumn of 2004. Mrs Deborah Hunter works with Class 1 for two mornings a week, and joined us in the Spring of 2005. We also are glad of the help two LSAs to support children with special needs.
Our Governors are chaired by Revd John Simpson, the incumbant at Little Missenden. As we are a church school, the Parochial Church Council appoints four of the Governors while the Oxford Diocese appoints two of them. The others comprise one Local Education Authority appointment, one Parish Council member, one member of the non-teaching staff and a parent, as well as Miss Keatinge and Mrs Borrows.
