Newtown Infant School and Nursery is a medium sized school set on the edge of the old market town of Chesham in Buckinghamshire. Although we are surrounded by an area of outstanding natural beauty, we have our own link to the London Underground, and good access to the major motorway routes.

We presently have approximately 130 children on roll in the school and 90 in the Nursery. The school is central to the life of the Newtown area and enjoys many links with the community.

The Governing Body plays a vital role in the life of the school.  It is made up of County Council Representatives, Parent Governors, Teacher Governors, a Non-Teaching Staff Governor, Co-opted Governors and a Minor Local Authority Representative.  If you are interested in serving the school in this way, please contact the Headteacher or the Chairman. 	Mark Shaw Chairman, Parent Mark is married with two children, one at Newtown and one who is now at Brushwood.  He works as a Campaigns Advisor in Hertfordshire. 	Kevin Badrick Vice Chairman, Parent Kevin is married with two children, both of whom attended Newtown.  He is a Sales Manager for Priests of Chesham and has been a governor since October 2000.  Kevin's interests include cricket, golf and clay shooting.  He is chairman of the Finance Committee. 	Celia Chandler Non-Teaching Staff Email		Ian Scoones Parent Ian is married with two children, both of whom attend Newtown.  He is a house-husband, who has combined this role with the successful completion of a Ph.D thesis.  Ian works as a part-time lecturer with the Open University, and is also Secretary of Bucks Parents for Comprehensive Education. 	Ginnie Cullen Parent		James Waller Parent James is a professional photographer living and working in Chesham. He is married to Joann and with they have two children, one currently at Newtown nursery one waiting!  Although this is James's first experience of working on a committee, he is looking forward to helping out as much as he can and bringing his skills to the governing body. 	Phil Davies Parent Phil is married to Naomi and they have two boys, both at Newtown.  Having travelled and taught abroad for several years, Phil is now working in his family's business, Davies Furnishings Ltd, in Amersham. Email		Jenny White Community Email
	Gordon Dixon County Council Email		John Wigmore Community John is married with two children, both of whom have attended Newtown.  As an Independent Financial Adviser he soon found himself on the Finance Committee.  John is also Director of Music at St Mary's Church. Email
	Alison Fowler Teacher Email		Peter Yerrell County Council Peter is married with two sons and two grandsons.  He is semi-retired, assisting part-time with his son's carpet business.  Peter is a Chesham Town Councillor for the Ridgeway Ward but as a Governor he represents the County Council. Email
