Oldfield Brow Primary School is rightfully proud of its many achievements. But what do others say about us?
Well, recently we were singled out as the most improved school in the whole of England and Wales!
David Blunkett, Minister for Education, wrote to us and said:
"I am grateful for everything you have done over the last three years to achieve such a tremendous improvement."
As a result, we were featured in numerous newspapers and radio programmes with headlines such as:
"SCHOOL SHOWS IT'S THE TOPS" and "ON THE CREST OF A WAVE"
We were thrilled and of course very proud. Graham Brady MP commented that:
"This is a tremendous performance for the teaching staff, the governors and the pupils at Oldfield Brow Primary School"
Whilst Chris Pratt, the director for Long Life Learning in Trafford said,
"This is a magnificent achievement for the teachers and pupils."
We were placed 2nd in the SATs league tables for the whole of Trafford.
The office for standards in Education went even further. They commented on the schools achievements being higher than both the national and local trends and noted that our achievements in Maths, English and Science were very high compared to the national average. We couldn't have done any better!
OfSTED inspected our school for four days and they noted:
"The school provides good education for its pupils"
and noted that amongst the school's many strengths were its:
- provision and teaching in the nursery,
- teaching in upper Key Stage 2,
- relevant and well managed curriculum,
- good provision for pupils spiritual, moral, social and cultural development,
- good management and organisation.
If you couple this with the other exam successes we have had in at Manchester Grammar School, Altrincham Grammar School, North Cestrian Grammar School, Green Lane High School and Wellington High School, you'll know that when we say:
"Only the Very Best Will Do!"...............we mean it!
