Welcome to Plumberow School
Plumberow is a large primary school with more than 570 pupils on roll. It is part of a cluster of four primary schools in the Hockley/Hawkwell area and it is also linked to the Rayleigh cluster of schools. The school is adjacent to Greensward College and there is a good liaison between the two establishments, with many benefits for our pupils. Pupils are accommodated in the two main school buildings (Blue and White School) which are separated by the playground area. Classrooms are spacious and well resourced, in addition there is a large playing field, two halls and an outdoor swimming pool. The site and buildings are well maintained and provide a safe and attractive environment for both children and staff. We have developed areas within the school grounds, including a pond and a quiet area near the playground. The school expanded during 2000, with four additional classrooms, a library and a computer suite being completed. In keeping with the Primary philosophy of the school there are Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils in both buildings. The school has been awarded Healthy Schools status and has also received a Sport England Active Mark. It offers a variety of extra curricular clubs and activities. Details of those currently on offer can be viewed on the following page.
Mission Statement: At Plumberow, we aim to provide a happy, safe and caring community, where everyone is encouraged and supported to achieve their goals. (See 'Prospectus' for the Aims of the School)
