Thank you for showing an interest in Shoeburyness High School. In this this section we have tried to capture a little of the flavour and ethos of our school, although we believe the best way to judge us is to pay a visit and see our work for yourself.  We look forward to the opportunity of meeting you and discussing the exciting opportunities that we offer.

The move from primary school to a large secondary school such as ours is a big step for all young learners and we do all we can to ensure that the school is a friendly, supportive place where everyone achieves.

We have high expectations and aim to see every pupil appreciate their potential, reach it and be proud to excel. This is encouraged through our supportive environment in which achievement, effort and behaviour are rewarded.  Pupils, staff and parents are all part of our learning community and, as such, everyone of us has a vital part to play in creating a positive atmosphere of encouragement. There is no place for those who seek to disrupt education or who try to make life difficult for others. We all want the best for our children and this can only happen where there is a real partnership between home and school.

Over the last 12 months we have not been standing still! We are a Specialist Technology College, Training School, a Full Service Extended School; we have a Learning Resource Base and are an active member of the Southend-on-Sea Excellence Cluster, amongst other things.
