In our school everyday, We will learn, love and pray, following in the footsteps of Jesus
St. Alban's is a voluntary aided school and functions under the trusteeship of the Archdiocese of Cardiff. It is a designated primary school (i.e. rising fives to eleven plus). It is a co-educational day school.
Parents considering sending their child(ren) to St. Alban's should, in the first instance, contact the headteacher. A mutually convenient time will be arranged for parents to visit the school. Parents are advised to place their child(ren)'s name(s) on the waiting list at their earliest convenience.
This booklet is designed to provide parents with the information about our school as required by The Education Act (1980) and The Education Reform Act (1988). The details contained herein are correct at the time of printing.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
As ours is a Catholic Primary, Religious Education is considered a core subject and its influence permeates the whole curriculum and life in the school. The Arch-diocesan syllabus ‘Here I Am’ is followed in our school and three topics are completed each term.
The pupils will have experience of:
- Recognising that people grow and develop up in different ways.
- Reflecting on how I have grown and changed.
- Respecting who I am and where I am now. New joys and responsibilities
- Relating my growth as a person to a God who loves and accepts me.
- Rejoicing in myself as a person. Expecting there will be difficult times as well as happy ones.
- Remembering that I am still growing and changing and God is with me at every stage.
- Renewing myself. What sort of person will I try to be in the future.
