Welcome !!!
Welcome to St John's Church of England Primary School, where you will find us friendly, responsive and approachable. We hope you will find the information contained in this website helpful.
As a church school, we are committed to a framework of good relationships, caring discipline, high expectations and hard work within an environment where all are valued.
The school building is uniquely designed with traditionally-styled separate classrooms and separate play areas for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
The school is set in extensive grounds in a quiet residential area, incorporating an outdoor environmental garden as well as modern activity climbing equipment.

The staff at St John's school organise a variety of extra curricular activities after school.
All children are encouraged to participate in some of these activities which vary throughout the year and include music, netball, football, Spanish, story club and art club. Children participate against other schools competitively in a variety of sports. Here, the ideals of fair play and teamwork are valued as much as the ability to win.
The school participates regularly in the following events:
- Ciba 7's football competition
- 6 and 7-side football matches against other schools
- Primary schools swimming galas
- Primary schools' athletic competitions
- Netball league and knockout competitions
- Kwik Cricket
- Key Stage 1 Football
- Art Club
The children who learn musical instruments are encouraged to perform in assemblies and church. We also participate in the Macclesfield & District Schools Music Festival.

We consider that Physical Education is a crucial part of your child's education.
All our children take part in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities and are encouraged to participate with enjoyment and confidence, reaching their full potential as individuals.
Older children are encouraged to represent the school in a variety of sporting activities such as football, netball, cross country, swimming and rounders.
Every two years the children in Years Five and Six are given the opportunity to take part in a residential visit to the YMCA Centre at Lakeside.
There they have the opportunity to participate in outdoor activities such as canoeing, rock climbing and abseiling. It is also an exercise in community living which encourages confidence and self-esteem.
Children are also given the opportunity during their time at St Johns to take weekly swimming lessons for which we request a voluntary contribution.
