Located in the tranquil Heaton Mersey conservation area of Stockport, in a wonderful Victorian building, our school has a big reputation for quality teaching, small class sizes, traditional values and a caring environment.

With an outstanding record of success in ensuring pupils pass the entrance exam to their chosen grammar school, we’re also big on results and take real pride in helping every child achieve their best.

Non-profit-making and open to children of all denominations, we have built our reputation around an environment designed to encourage learning and promote self-discipline. With traditional values, small class sizes and dedicated teachers, we welcome children aged from 3 to 11 into a happy, caring, secure environment.

�� Religious Studies

At Stella Maris School we welcome children of all faiths and show understanding and consideration to the beliefs of all pupils. We also believe that everyone, regardless of faith, should be valued and respected.

Our Religious Studies are based on Christian beliefs and aim to bring out the best in each child. Catholic children are also prepared for the Sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion. The Church’s Calendar is also followed.

All children are expected to attend the weekly assembly and to participate in our Christmas and Summer Concerts. We also encourage pupils to take part in our charitable work and each year considerable sums are raised for our two main charities: The Royal National Institute for the Blind and The Children’s Rescue Society.
