ABOUT US

Stoborough is a Church of England Voluntary Aided First School, situated to the south of Wareham in the beautiful and historic Isle of Purbeck, in the heart of Dorset. As a church school we have strong links with the Diocese of Salisbury and the Parish of Wareham.

We cater for children in the 4 to 9 age range. After their time with us the majority of pupils move on to either Wareham or Sandford Middle Schools.There are currently 120 pupils on roll, divided in to 5 single age group classes. Stoborough is a popular school which draws extensively from outside its catchment area. The average class size is 25. Each class is supported by a team of excellent teaching assistants. We are almost unique as one of only two primary schools in the whole of Dorset to provide a hot lunch service. On average about half of the children have a hot meal each day; the rest bring a packed lunch.

Many children learn to play musical instruments at Stoborough School. There are different recorder groups, to cater for children of all ability levels.

The Dorset Music Service tutors teach guitar, keyboard and violin lessons.

In the Summer Term there is a Maypole Club and a French Club.

Football Club takes place all year round for children in Year 3 and Year 4.

There is a school choir and drama club for the oldest children.

Year One can attend Art/Gardening Club.

Year 3 and 4 are able to attend Cookery Club.
