Set in the heart of picturesque Constable Country, in beautiful rural Suffolk, we are easily reached from Sudbury, Colchester and Hadleigh and are within 10 minutes of the A12. Our school offers “a very good climate for learning in which children feel both secure and valued.” OFSTED (June 2005)
Our family-orientated setting offers a wonderful environment, where every child feels valued and every child really does matter.
Because we are a ‘small school’, we can afford to go the extra mile for our children, creating an atmosphere where the staff know all of the children well and can precisely tailor teaching and support to the educational and emotional needs of each child. The unusually high levels of classroom teaching support that we offer also help with this. Teaching is strong across the curriculum. Our results in the National tests are consistently high and we offer teaching expertise in the wider curriculum, particularly the creative areas of Music and Art. We offer curriculum French for years two and above. The Foundation Stage has an especially good reputation and our Nursery, for children of 3-4 yrs, offers the children the best possible start to their schooling.
We currently offer clubs in Multisports, art, ICT & computers, soccer, music (recorders), Fit Kids and KidzClub, which is organised by St. Mary’s church, further strengthening our Christian ethos as a church school.
We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities for the children to choose from.
We have a state-of-the-art ICT suite and all classrooms have interactive whiteboards. All children from the Nursery onwards regularly work with computers and develop their skills year-on-year.
We are proud of our reputation for excellence which has spread across the county. Currently around 60% of our children come to us from out-of-catchment, our families come from far-and-wide and choose to bring their children here.
The school day begins at 9.00am and finishes at 3.30pm. Lunchtime is 12.00-1.10pm. |
