Welcome to Stokesley Community Primary School. The school is located in the picturesque rural town of Stokesley, and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in the north of england.
Within a stones throw are the hills that make up the Cleveland Way and a little further brings the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales.
Within easy reach of major towns and cities such as Northallerton and Middlesbrough, Stokesley offers a wonderful location/environment to bring up and educate children.

We aim to provide a friendly, enjoyable, learning environment where children will feel secure and valued. With a well resourced and planned curriculum, learning will be achieved through both structured play and teacher directed activities, building on skills which the children have already started to develop at home and other settings.
The Foundation Stage will support, foster and promote the children's learning in the following areas: communication, language and literacy, mathematical development, creative development, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, knowledge and understanding of the world.
As a Foundation Stage we have close links with Key Stage 1, thereby providing for progression and a smooth transition into the next stage of their development.
 In the Foundation Stage we take part in a lot of fun activities such as sewing, cooking, modelling, role-play, number work etc, that promote learning and social interaction through teacher guided activities, independant exploration and play.
The year is divided into topics and linked to the seasons. These topics allow us to use our immediate environment and local vicinity, whilst thay can be extended out into the wider world. With this in mind the whole Foundation Stage goes for an adventurous day out during the year. This involves taking many parents as well and although tiring (for adults), is normally a very enjoyable, fun day.
We now have our extended outdoor area, which is gradually taking shape. This offers the opportunity for taking the curriculum right outside, through exploration, investigation, problem solving and a great deal of fun.
In Year 1 come and meet Little Lumpty, The Bear Under the Stairs, Superdog and Bold the Bad through stories and poems. Find out about big cats, creepy crawlies and lots of other amazing animals.
Have a trip to a playground and build a model. Find out about how to make pictures move and design your own model bedroom. Prepare a fruit salad and sample some hot Mexican food.
Travel back in time to find out about toys your grandparents played with. The Fire of London and the Plague. Experience school as it was in the olden days and walk down a Victorian Street in Preston Hall Museum.
Welcome to Year 2. In this year group we aim to provide a sound basis in numeracy, literacy, science and ICT alongside other curriculum areas. During the year we learn about life in the past and follow up with a visit to Beamish, The North Of England Open Air Museum. It has always been a most enjoyable visit, from which the children have gained a lot of first hand experience. Another highlight of the year is the visit of the Kiteman and his wonderful kites.. During the day every child makes a kite and in the afternoon we fly them on the school field.
