On-line accommodation applications

Welcome to the Univerity's on-line accommodation application process for the 2007/8 academic year.

We trust this will help you in making your choices of accommodation easy to manage.

We advise that to register your on-line application, you require your 6 digit University identification number (NOT your UCAS application number), which can be found on the correspondence confirming your course details, and also a valid email address.

Please note that the closing dates of May 31 for UK and EU Undergraduate Guarantee Scheme applications and July 31 for Overseas Ungraduates and Postgraduates, have now passed.

When the accommodation allocation process starts for your appropriate status, all accommodation applications received after these deadlines will be allocated in a strict order of sequence, after the pre-May 31 and July 31 deadline applications have been dealt with.

Whilst we cannot guarantee your allocation will be successful, Housing Services will offer further help to those students not allocated into University accommodation.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR INSURANCE AND CLEARING STUDENTS

For Insurance Undergraduate students applying to Birmingham after making it their firm choice University, and also Clearing students, please apply IMMEDIATELY for your accommodation via the on-line application form.

Although the allocation process for these categories of students does not start until after the Firm choice students have been processed, it is necessary for us to receive your application as soon as possible in order for Housing Services to advise you of your accommodation allocation before the start of term.

If you experience any difficulty in being able to fully process your accommodation application on-line, we would advise that you complete a paper application form.

Please click on the appropriate link below, according to your student status, print the form, complete it in black ink, and then either fax it to Housing Services [Tel: ## 44 (0) 121 414 6443] or post it to the address on the form.

Please be aware of the application closing dates as described above, and on the Guarantee Scheme information pages.

Also, please note that the guarantee scheme does not apply to UK based Postgraduates. If you belong to this category of student, please email l.a.winwood@bham.ac.uk for a separate application form, for either single students or those with families. The University has a limited number of managed houses that may be suitable.

If you wish to change your accommodation choices from either your original paper application form, or an on-line application, please email ugradaccom@bham.ac.uk or pgradaccom@bham.ac.uk (according to your student status) with your University id or UCAS application number.

Please DO NOT amend your details on-line as this may result in you having a later dated application, and effect your final allocation.

Also, if you have already applied with the paper form, please DO NOT re-apply on-line as this will also create a later dated application.

Please note all accommodation is offered on a first come, first served basis. Some sites are oversubscribed, therefore first choice accommodation cannot always be guaranteed.

The Guarantee Scheme ensures that first year undergraduate students and international first-year postgraduate students who are new to Birmingham are guaranteed accommodation, subject to certain conditions.
