NATIONAL 5-14 DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME  

National guidelines for each curricular area are the basis for the learning and teaching of pupils.  They are set out in 5 levels:  

The levels are:

Level A - should be attained by nearly all pupils in primaries one to three

Level B - should be attained by some pupils in primary three or even earlier, but certainly by most in primary four  

Level C - should be attained in the course of primary four to six by most pupils  

Level D - should be attained by some pupils in primary five or primary six, or even earlier, but certainly by most in primary seven  

Level E - should be attainable by some pupils in primary seven to first year at secondary school, but certainly by most in second year at secondary

Level F - should be attainable by some pupils in first or second year at secondary school  

HOW THE LEVELS WORK

Children start at level A and progress through the levels when the school thinks that they are ready.

Some levels will take longer to attain than others and teachers ensure that progress is being made.  

Some boys and girls progress more quickly than others and some pupils need extra support.

Our uniform consists of:

Shirt /blouse /polo shirt in grey or white,

Trousers, shorts or skirt in grey.

Sweater in grey.

* Sweatshirt or fleece in red with school badge.

* School tie in grey and red stripes.

Black blazer with school badge.

Red/white check dress for girls in summer if desired.

Items with * and the school tie are only available from the school.

In term 3 order forms for polo shirt ,fleece and school sweatshirts are issued to all parents. Pre- school pupils receive their form at the Pre-school programme.

Please ensure that all items of clothing are labelled or marked with the child's name.

Enrolment of new entrants will normally take place in early January. Dates of registration will be advertised in the local newspaper. At that time, you will be invited to join our Pre-school Infant Programme, which takes place in the summer term.

The Pre-school Programme takes place one afternoon a week and lasts for 5 weeks. Whilst the children are supervised in a variety of activities, parents and staff work through a programme of events devised to help the children prepare for entering school the following August.
