Eco-School
Pollution is harming the environment (our surroundings) and is causing climate change, so it is important to avoid pollution and to try and save the earth's natural resources.
The Eco-school council had a meeting and came up with ways that could help our school to become more eco-friendly.
Thirty trees have been delivered and hopefully they will soon be planted. There are wild cherry, silver birch, and rowan trees. We’ve also been given silver birch seeds.
Four bird feeders are going to be put up in the school nature reserve and they will be filled with bird seed regularly.
The school had a ‘save water’ poster competition. The winners from Blwyddyn 5 were Beth Noonan Roberts and Shannon Dickens. The winners from Blwyddyn 6 were Jamie Joinson and Charlotte Liepins. Their posters have been laminated and made into A3 size. They’ve been put up in the different toilets around the school to remind children not to waste water.
Children have also made posters to remind people not to waste electricity and to turn off the lights and projectors and to turn down the radiators when they’re not needed.
The school has been awarded a very large amount of money in order to create a new school entrance for pedestrians and cyclists, so that the children can walk or cycle instead of being driven to school which causes pollution and obesity. The grant will also pay for a new bike shed. | 
Deganwy is a large village on the mouth of the river Conwy in Wales. It is 2 miles in one direction from the ancient town of Conwy and 2 miles from the large holiday resort of Llandudno in the other.
