Good reasons to study at Anglia Ruskin University

There are many , but here are five of the best! Click on the headings below for more information.

Study in the perfect student city!

City of Cambridge
People come from all over the world to experience Cambridge, and they are never disappointed! Full of interesting people, places, and things to do, only 50 minutes by train from London and set in the beautiful east of England, Cambridge really is the perfect student city. Whether you enjoy music and the arts, sports and exercise, or shopping and socialising, Cambridge has a lot to offer you!

Anglia Ruskin also has a campus in the traditional English town of Chelmsford, set in stunning countryside just 30 minutes from London. Chelmsford boasts an equally wide range of facilities on a newly built campus, ten minutes walk from the busy town centre.

"Cambridge is a very peaceful place and excellent place to study. It is also beautiful, very historic though you can see some modern building here and there. The parks and gardens are great places to hang around and also to relax specially after exams. It is very international friendly. There are cafes and restaurants from all over the world, and lots of events with an international atmosphere that even English people enjoy too!"

Lizzie Tchissambou, BSc (Hons) Optical Management

A focus on career and professional development

Image of students
We know that many students see a degree as an important step on their career path, and that's why we think a degree, both undergraduate and postgraduate, should not only enhance your subject knowledge, but also prepare you for the world of work and equip you with skills that will be useful throughout your career.

Studying at Anglia Ruskin, you'll learn how to work both independently and in a team, and how to research and present your ideas in a clear and concise way - both valuable skills for the workplace! And you'll find that we have links to major professional bodies as well as many different companies - some courses even offer help with finding work placements during the summer months - so we know that employers are looking for.

As you reach the end of your time with us, the Careers Service is available to offer help and advice in planning your career and finding the right job for you. This service is free of charge to all Anglia Ruskin students and recent graduates, and can prove a valuable tool in choosing your first (or next) career move.
Anglia Ruskin's approach clearly gives excellent results as over 93% of our graduates are either employed or studying for a further qualification within six months of graduation and we are among the Sunday Times top 50 for graduate starting salaries.

We'll help you to achieve your chosen degree

Just because you don't currently have all the qualifications necessary to study for your chosen degree, or the required level of English language, doesn't mean you can't study with us. At Anglia Ruskin we can help you to achieve your chosen qualification, wherever you are starting from.

"Studying at Anglia Ruskin University gave me the opportunity I never thought I would have. I started on the EFL Summer course and discovered that I might be able to do a degree at the University. From the first day my degree course gave me a feeling of confidence that has moved me forward ever since. The Computer Science degree pushes the creative boundaries inside you. At the moment I am working in one of Europe's biggest software houses but I am going back to Anglia Ruskin to do an MBA course."

Jihad Hinawi, BSc (Hons) Computer Science

Superb campus locations and facilities

As well as excellent current facilities on campus, Anglia Ruskin is committed to an ongoing program of investment to improve the campuses still further. And what's more, few other university campuses are so well positioned - right in the city centre, close to shops, restaurants and entertainment. What more could you ask for! An international community

Image of group of international students
While most of our students are from the UK, over 20% of our full time students are international from nearly 100 different countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and North and South America - and we really hope that you'll soon be one of them!

"One of the great things about this programme is the range of students it attracts, culturally as well as professionally. There were 30 students from 19 different countries in my year. It was like a small United Nations!"
