Swanwick Primary School is a co-educational county primary school for children between the ages of 4 and 11.
The main building comprises seven teaching areas clustered around the main hall, which also serves as gymnasium and dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen.
The school has a well-stocked library which is available for use by all students. We also have a Computer Suite which is networked with computers in all classrooms and a wealth of Lap-tops, allowing children’s learning to be improved and supported by the most modern ICT.
In addition there is a separate block of 5 classrooms on site completed in 1999. We currently house one class in a temporary classroom; the governors are working hard to secure further permanent accommodation.
The main building is set in its own grounds with two playgrounds, one of which has recently been built, and the other entirely resurfaced. There is also a substantial grassed area, and a wild area which we are developing. Improvement of the school grounds has been a school development priority which has been led by the Friends Association. |
