The College accepts students from the full ability range. The catchment area covers the town of Bideford, the nearby villages of Northam, Appledore and Westward Ho! and a large rural area stretching from Hartland in the West to slightly beyond Instow in the East.
The College occupies two sites in Abbotsham Road and Geneva Place. These are sufficiently close to allow the College to be organised as one campus. Bideford College has facilities for all specialist subjects.
The main buildings are in Abbotsham Road where there are facilities for Science, Creative Arts, Technology, PE, Theatre Studies, Music and general teaching rooms for English, History, Geography, RE, Mathematics and Learning Support.
The Geneva Place building includes a suite of language rooms, library facilities, our post 16 centre and a careers centre. On both sites there are computer rooms. The Canteen is on the Abbotsham Road site. We also have Moreton Park for off-site Sports and PE activities.
In September 1997 the Hearing Support Centre was completed, giving the College high quality rooms and resources for hearing-impaired students. In 2000, the new Art/Science building opened; science labs have also been refurbished. In September 2003, a new Music Room opened and the LEA is working with Governors to plan for the regeneration of the main campus over the next decade.
