Dear Parents,

At Bovey Tracey Primary School we aim to provide a positive, happy and secure learning environment where everyone will be encouraged to do their best. Staff work together to ensure that the children in our care gain the best possible start to school life. Parents and governors give support, and we also welcome the officers and advisers of the local education authority who assist and monitor the school to help us achieve high standards. The school provides the full range of national curriculum subjects, plus a range of other subjects and activities, in and out of school hours. A child's primary education is important and we need to get it right, first time - there is no second chance. In partnership with yourselves, we look forward to giving your child an exciting and stimulating education. If you would like to visit the school, please contact the administrator, who will make the necessary arrangements.

Yours sincerely,

Max Quick

(Headteacher)

An 'average' seven year old will attain Level 2 whilst an 'average' eleven year old can be expected to reach Level 4. Though not part of the National Curriculum, RE is statutory and also, schools are required to hold a daily act of collective worship. The RE curriculum follows Devon's Agreed Syllabus. We also teach Personal, Social and Health Education, Citizenshipand Sex Education. Parents, should they so wish can withdraw children from RE, Collective Worship and Sex Education, with the exception of the part of Sex Education which is required as part of National Curriculum Science. Teachers employ a range of teaching styles, including whole class, group and individual according to the needs of the children and the subject matter.
