WELCOME!!!
As a school we have a long emphasis in what we call the Prospectus, ‘The Unstated Curriculum’, or the ‘‘Ethos and Values’.
An essential part of the work in our school is that part of the Curriculum which is not prescribed and could be time tabled, but which is needed to make Cockington a place where children and adults care for each other, show respect, and live in harmony, and try to project those elements into the wider, global community we all share. As an example, regard to school rules, which are essential for safety, tolerance of the needs of others and the willingness to lend a hand to those in need.
We are also proud of our status as as a non-racist school, and appreciate our parents’ support and commitment in this crucial area of human equality.
Staff and children alike are expected to contribute daily to the family ‘nature’ of our school community through their work and play and to feel proud to belong here, and set good examples of what it means to be a good citizen both inside and outside of our school
