The Foundation Stage, introduced from September 2000, is a stage of education for children to the end of the foundation year. It is a distinct stage and important both in its own right and in preparing children for later schooling. Early learning goals provide six areas of learning that lay a secure basis for children's future learning.
The Curriculum for KS1 and KS2
All children study four 'core’ subjects: English, Mathematics, Science and Information & Communications Technology (ICT), and seven 'foundation’ subjects: Personal, Social and Health Education, History, Geography, Music, Art, Design & Technology and Physical Education. As a Church School the teaching of Religious Education – although not classed as a core subject by the Government, is treated with importance by the school and is taught in accordance with the customs and practice of the Church of England. |
