Children are admitted to Bridport Primary School in accordance with Dorset County Council's Admission Arrangements. These state that your child can begin school in the September after his/her 4th birthday.
All children attending school for the first time do so on a part-time basis for one term unless it is considered to be inappropriate, either by school or parents, for the child to become full time. The admission number for the school is 60, which includes 2 reserve places. From September 1999, Bridport Primary has been a 2- form entry school. The classes will all continue to be mixed gender and ability.
In order to ensure that the school is organised efficiently, it is essential that we are aware of the termly intake in advance. For this reason, it is helpful if parents register their children with the school during (or before) the year prior to admission. Registration can be made either by calling in to the School Office, or by telephone.
Parents, who are new to the area and wish to visit the school, should make an appointment. We can then arrange to show you the school site, introduce you to our staff, and you can see the children during their school day.
