Carter Community School is a 12–16 Secondary School serving the community of Hamworthy and is increasingly attracting students from a wider area of Poole.

As a small secondary school, we know our students very well and are unique in that we are able to provide individual care and support.

We offer a diverse curriculum. Students follow a wide range of courses which enables them to fulfil their academic potential. In addition, we are innovative in our approach to individualised learning and offer an extensive programme of vocational opportunities to our students.

The curriculum on offer is reviewed each year to ensure that it meets the needs of our students. There are 25 periods each week, each lasting for 1 hour. In addition, students have a 20 minute tutorial at the start of each day.
