| WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL
Castle Court School is a private nursery, pre prep and preparatory day school located in the heart of Dorset.
Our goal at Castle Court school is to provide an outstanding day education for boys and girls aged 3 to 13. We want our children to achieve the very best academic results of which they are capable and to discover all their talents, whatever they may be.
We want our children to feel cared for and valued and, in turn, to care for and value others. Our values are Christian values: these underpin everything we do. We want all the children here to feel really good about themselves because we know that happy, confident children will both do the best they can, and be the best they can.

| The aim of these pages is to give you an holistic view of life with us.
Our goal at Castle Court is to provide an outstanding education for day boys and day girls aged 3 to 13. In everything we do, we strive for the best.
We want your child to achieve the very best academic results of which he or she is capable. We want your child to discover all their talents, whatever they are, by joining in the many and varied activities which we offer outside the classroom.

| Children move on to a variety of senior independent and state schools, including the local grammar schools. We ensure that they are well prepared for this next stage in their educational journey.

| Badgers age 3−4
Morning − Literacy, numeracy
Afternoon − Creativity and energy
Reception age 4−5
Core curriculum − Literacy, Numeracy
Curriculum additions − Art, Music, Religious Studies, Science, Technology, PE, Ballet, ICT
We welcome children into Badgers once they are three. They come for as many half or full days as they wish. Our nursery class provides stimulating activities with lots of fun to give children an appetite for, and a love of, learning.
Morning sessions lay the foundations for reading, writing and numeracy. As well as this there is plenty of time for getting hands dirty with imaginative work and play.
In Reception the emphasis is on literacy and numeracy, but the timetable is broad, varied and fun. The children use computers, and we introduce them to religious studies, music and art as well as sport.
|
| Pre-Prep age 5−7
Core curriculum − Literacy, Numeracy
Curriculum additions − Art, Music, Religious Studies, History, Geography, Science, Technology, French, ICT, PE and Ballet.
The children here are between the ages of 5 and 7. We build on work they have already undertaken in Badgers and Reception in terms of numeracy and literacy. We add subjects such as science and technology and French to the curriculum.
We aim that by now the children understand the value of work and concentration and at the same time, of co-operation and consideration for others.
They share the main school facilities for drama, sport, ICT, recreation − and lunch!
|
| Seniors age 9−13
Curriculum − (all taught by specialist subject teachers) English, Maths, Science, French, Latin (in sets); History, Geography, Religious Studies, Art, Design Technology, Information Technology, Speech, Drama, PE and Sport.
Extra Curricular − Activities & Trips
By now the children are taught by specialist subject teachers. They join sets where they will be able to move ahead at a pace that is comfortable for them. They delight in the ever-greater breadth of experience, including speech and drama. ICT suffuses the curriculum, from PCs to laptops, interactive whiteboards to personal email accounts.
The school day for seniors finishes at 4.30pm. but everyone can stay on for supervised activities until 6pm. There is no Saturday school, but there are occasional play rehearsals in the mornings and matches in the afternoons.
