We are a happy friendly, rural village school committed to doing best for the children in our care. We pride ourselves at Wool CE VA First School, in giving the children in our care the very best start to their education and social lives whilst maintaining a Christian family atmosphere.

At our school we encourage the children to aim for 3 things:

• to be happy and enjoy their time with us
• to become independent learners
• to behave well at all times, treating other people with courtesy and consideration

We are very proud that our school is at the leading edge of teaching Phonics. Our approach is based on a fusion of best early years practice and recent synthetic phonics’ research. Over the last three years of implementation there has been a reflected positive impact on early reading and writing in our school.

We offer the children the option to attend extra-curricular activities, some of these are held at lunchtimes and some after school. We are lucky to have both staff and parents who run these clubs and all clubs are invariably over subscribed! Some of the clubs we offer are:

• Recorder Club
• African drumming
• Nature Club
• Uni-Hock
