ABOUT US
Townhill Primary School was opened on the 1st February 1965. This year is therefore its 40th Anniversary and many events have been organised to celebrate this important milestone.
The school is situated in the Hillhouse/Earnock area of Hamilton. The building has 15 classrooms, a computer room, a dual-purpose gymnasium/dining hall and a large general purposes room. The school is set on a hill with a large grassy area to the front and hard and grassy surface playing areas to the side and rear.
Townhill Primary believes in promoting good citizenship. Qualities of self-discipline, integrity, respect and generosity are encouraged. Pupils and staff demonstrate in many ways care and concern for the wider community. Pupils are also encouraged to participate in decision making through pupil bodies such as Pupil Council, School Captains, Eco Committee and Health Promotion Group.
The school was successful in gaining two prestigious awards in December 2004 - Green Flag from ECO Schools Scotland and the Bronze Award for being a Health Promoting School.
