ABOUT US

Cottam Primary School first opened in September 1998 with just 75 pupils. Since then, the school has grown in size and now has over 260 pupils who benefit from the modern surroundings and purpose built classrooms.

As a new school, we have impressive facilities that allow us to provide a high standard of education. Facilities include:

• Spacious classrooms
• Purpose built library and ICT Suite
• Large dining room/P.E. Hall
• Separate Reception/Infant/Junior playgrounds
• Large field for sporting activities.
• 10 interactive whiteboards and nearly 50 networked and internet ready computers.

Our school mission statement was devised shortly after the school opened with teachers, governors, parents and children all expressing what we believed the school stood for We believe that every child can achieve success, to realise their own unique potential that lies within.

We will strive to provide a stimulating and exciting school which gives the children the desire to learn and progress.

As our mission statement shows, the children and the school are at the centre of these partnerships with staff, parents and the wider community at Cottam all working together to achieve our high aims.

A large range of extra curricular activities are offered over the course of the year before, during and after school. We regularly compete against other schools at Football, Cricket, Netball, Rounders, Tag Rugby and Hockey. For the dance and drama fans, we also take part in the annual Preston Music Festival and present three productions a year. (Infant, Lower Juniors and Upper Juniors) The vast majority of these clubs are free for all children.
