ABOUT US

Eldon Primary School is situated in a built up area near the centre of Preston. The school building is over 100 years old, built a long time before the National Curriculum and built originally as an all age school.

We aim to provide our pupils with a quality education, both socially and academically, to lay the foundation for their future life.

The school is organised into 6 classes. The work of the school is undertaken in these classes. There is also provision for some children to receive additional support and tuition as part of the Special Needs Programme. This can be in class support or out of class work according to need. We are aware of both the academic and emotional needs of our children and, if necessary, your child will work in a small group with our learning mentor – this work is specifically designed to raise the self esteem of your child since we realise that a child needs to value themselves before they can value anything else. You will find more information on this later on in this brochure under SEN.
