ABOUT US

Lea St. Mary's Catholic Primary School was founded in 1850 and now serves the parishes of St. Mary's Lea Town and St. Robert's, Catforth. It is situated in the village of Lea Town in a quiet rural area. The school playing fields overlook local farmlands, whilst opposite the school is the Church of St. Mary's. The children come from the local farmlands and the western suburbs of Preston. The isolated nature of the school means that pupils have to be transported, many by the school bus.

AIMS

  • To provide the children with a knowledge and understanding of their own Catholic faith and that of others.
  • To develop repect and cooperation amoungst all members of the school community.
  • To provide oppourtunities for each individual to develop fully as a person.
  • To provide a broad balanced curriculum for all pupils.
  • To provide a partnershiop of trust abd cooperation between home, school and parish.
  • To develop links with the wider community by involvement in extra curricular activities.

CURRICULUM

The aims of the school curriculum is to provide opportunities for all pupils to learn and achieve. The curriculum should also promote pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and prepare all pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life.
