ABOUT US

Pinfold Primary School is a friendly, caring school and our main aim is to provide a secure, stimulating and happy environment for all our children.

The present school building is made up of the original classroom/ chapel, schoolhouse/ police station and the infant classroom, together with extentions. In 1991 a new wildlife garden was made in the corner of the playground. This is currently being re-designed and re-worked by the pupils. In 2003 building and renovation work created a new entrance area, offices, staffroom, library and information and communication centre.

AIMS

This is a friendly caring school and our main aim is to provide a secure, stimulating and happy environment for all our children. Within this environment we aim:

  • To give all children the opportunity to develop the abilities they possess to the full and consequently to improve the standard of their achievements.
  • To encourage the development of skills in order to gain confidence and independence.
  • To encourage all our children to acquire and extend their knowledge about themselves and their relationship with other people. This will help them to know and understand the wider world around them and consequently to grow into mature, creative, tolerant and responsible adults, well fitted to play their role in society.
  • To form a bridge between home and school and to regard our parents as partners in the education of their own children.

CURRICULUM

The broad aim of our school curriculum is to equip our children with the knowledge and skills to enable them to make their way in the world; to relate to others and to establish worthwhile religious values and moral judgements.

Whenever required, the curriculum of the school is in accordance with the provisions of the National Curriculum.

CLUBS

The teachers at our school run a variety of clubs for the children. these are extra to the curriculum we are required to teach. The clubs are provided on a rotational basis during the year and may include: recorders, computing, french, gardening, chess, football and crafts.

We are always looking to extend the range of extra curricular activities we can offer to our children. Therefore we are most grateful to any parent or friend who feels that they would like to share their talents with a small group of children.
