ABOUT US

Here at Sacred Heart, we work very hard to make sure that all our children are happy and feel valued. We truly believe that each child is a success story. It is the duty of all adults in the lives of these children to support them and help them achieve. This happy atmosphere in school allows us to concentrate on making sure that all our children develop socially, academically and emotianally to their full potential.

We provide a safe and caring school with very high expectations of both learning and behaviour. Visitors often complement us on the excellent behaviour of the children here. We are very proud of our school and of the many successful, external judgements people have made about us. Earlier in the year, we were visited by OFSTED who judged all aspects of our school to be good or outstanding. In 2005, we were awarded the ACTIVEMARK GOLD from Sport England that demonstrated our commitment to all pupils' work in sport and activities both in and beyond the normal curriculum time.

AIMS

  • To maintain the highest ideals within the educational system, in a way that reflects the person of Christ and the message the church recieved from Him.
  • To develop our school ethos and environment in order to ensure that each person knows that they are special and cherished and that their individual talents and contributions to the school community are positively valued and recognised within a structure that provides equal opportunities for all.
  • To develop a partnership between parents, staff, governors and the community in which the children are central and which they will see as an example of responsible cooperation.

CURRICULUM

The school provides a well balanced curriculum which follows the requirements of the National Curriculum in all areas.

We believe that we are educating children so that they can enter society as literate and numerate people who have also an appreciation and experience of a wide range of allied skills and subjects. In order to do this the following subjects will form some part of their whole experience within school.
