The university is renowned for its links to business and industry, and for supporting students who combine study with their career. It is possible to study on a full-time or part-time basis, and some courses are available by distance learning. Our quality, flexible courses can fit around work and other commitments. Many of our part-time and short courses are taught in the evening. A range of courses also offer the relevant professional accreditation. The university offers a growing number of short courses which can be studied as continuing professional development, or as a ‘stand-alone’ course. Many are directly linked to workplace skills needed in specific sectors, for example, transport. Some courses require no prior experience of work or study in that area, for example, photoshop.
For anyone wanting to try out a new subject the university offers associate study| courses. These taster courses, in subjects such as creative writing, can lead on the degree courses where they can be then be studied in greater depth.
The range of courses continues to expand in response to the requirements of employers and students. Courses range from automotive design to pyschology.
