International Students

A photo of international students

Our international student community is drawn from over thirty countries including Malaysia, USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.

Not surprisingly for the university closest to mainland Europe, we have well established exchange links with universities and higher education institutions across the continent.

From wherever you come to study and whatever you come to study at Canterbury Christ Church, you will experience the qualities for which we have always been renowned; academic excellence and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and community spirit.

Welcome to the International Office

Dear enquirer, thank you for visiting our International Office webpage. We hope that you find all the information you are looking for here. Please contact us if you require further information.

Canterbury Christ Church University is a welcoming and dynamic university that currently has over 14,000 students enrolled on its programmes. The International community is drawn from over 60 countries. As well as having international students participating on a wide variety of degree programmes across the four faculties of Health, Business and Science, Humanities and Education, the University also hosts international students on English language preparation courses, Erasmus exchange programmes and USA Study Abroad programmes.

Canterbury Christ Church University is positioned very close to mainland Europe, offering easy access by train to Paris, Brussels and London. The University is actively developing links with Higher Education Institutions in Northern France and has already developed academic links with higher Education institutions in Mexico, Japan, China and India as well as a number of other countries.

The International Office

The International Office provides support to overseas students throughout their stay. The Office organizes an induction programme and acts as a focus for students whilst they are at the University. Students can come and see the International Student Support Officer to discuss any concerns they may have or to ask any questions. The International Student Officer arranges a social programme including local excursions and visits to London and other European capitals.

Many international students join the University for three-year degree programmes whilst others come for a one-year postgraduate course or for shorter periods and the International Office processes all international student admissions into the University.

As well as having internationally minded support staff in the International Office to help international students with their study visit, a significant number of the University's academic staff have international skills in teaching and research and undertake overseas teaching assignments and consultancies.
