The Funzone Out of School Club

Introduction

The Funzone Out of School Club was set up in September 1997 in response to the needs of children, parents and carers in the local community.  Both the After School Club and Early Bird sessions are run during the school term for the benefit of children attending Mrs Bland's Infant School and Garland Junior School.  During the school holidays and staff training days the Holiday Club sessions are open to any child aged between 5-11 years.  The club is committed to providing good quality, affordable childcare in a safe, supervised home from home environment, where children can relax and play.

After School, Holiday Club and Mrs Bland's Early Bird sessions take place in The Funzone's very own purpose built room at Mrs Bland's Infant School.  Garland Early Bird sessions take place at Garland School.

The Holiday Club is open every week day from 8 am until 6 pm  for every holiday and staff training day.  Exceptions to this are all bank holidays, the last full week of the summer holidays and from December 24th to New Year when the club will remain closed.

The club is run by a voluntary Management committee who meet on a regular basis and is staffed by qualified personnel responsible for day to day planning.  A list of committee members is available from the club and parents are welcome to join the committee.

The Funzone is inspected regularly and registered with OFSTED, according to the National Childcare standards and this registration is renewed annually.

The Funzone is non-profit making.  Our charging policy covers costs incurred by the organisation and any profit is used to improve the quality of the service provided.  For further information on charges please contact the school or Funzone.

The Funzone is a member of 4Children (formerly known as Kids Club Network).
