The Gardening Club runs every Monday 3.15pm – 4.30pm for 12 weeks during the summer term. We have 8 members between the ages of 6/7 years old. Their project this summer is the ‘Marrowthon’ - who can grow the heaviest marrow? They have successfully grown: radishes/lettuces/runner beans/dwarf beans/spring onions/strawberries and raspberries. They have grown their own tomatoes – sowing them from seed and caring for and weighing the fruit when picked. The children also keep the grounds in wonderful bloom. There is no charge for the ‘Patch Club’.
Our French Club runs every Wednesday 3.15pm - 4.15pm throughout the school year. Currently there are 14 children in the Club. This is a complete introduction to language learning through a structured approach with interactive games, drama and acting, story telling, fun songs and crafts. The Club runs for 10/12 weeks and costs £5.30 per session.

For those of you who have wondered about MindLab and what it is, please read on!
MindLab is the world’s largest provider of life-skills education for children in primary schools. At the heart of MindLab is the belief that the most productive way of learning is through having fun and hands-on experience and game playing provides the perfect tool to provide this.
MindLab uses a curriculum-based program of carefully selected games and puzzles from all over the world to encourage children to improve in life and social skills; for example Self Control, Self Confidence, Handling Emotions, Social Cooperation and Personal Responsibility. It also helps to sharpen and develop thinking processes like Decision Making, Spatial Thinking, Memory Training, Problem Solving, Logical & Mathematical Thinking.
Research shows that children who follow a MindLab curriculum demonstrate a substantial and lasting improvement in maths, strategy, problem solving and verbal reasoning, all whilst having fun!
For those who are interested, MindLab runs at Robert Piggott Infant School as an after-school programme on a Monday, straight after school for 1hr 15 mins. Classes are open for Yrs 1 upwards.
